A tenured professor at the Brasília School of Music since 2003, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Brasília (1996). In 1998, after receiving a scholarship from the Ministry of Education (MEC)'s APARTES program, he moved to New York where he completed a specialization course in double bass at Bass Collective, under the guidance of John Patitucci.
While still in New York, he was awarded a 75% scholarship by the Manhattan School of Music, where he completed his Master's degree in Jazz Performance in 2001, under the guidance of Jeff Andrews. Academic Background
